Functions of the Department of Aerodrome Planning
 
  • Planning of airports including land use, pavements, terminal and other buildings.
  • Co-ordination with airlines, DGCA, NEC and other bodies.
  • Defining scope of work, preparation of project reports, obtaining estimates from the Engineering Wing, processing cases for project approvals.
  • Preparation of annual plans and five year plans for aerodrome works.
  • Preparation of replies to questions from Parliament, Consultative Committee of Parliament, VIPs etc. in so far as they concern airport planning and projects.
  • Overall monitoring of the progress of projects.
