Functions of the Department of Engineering( E&M)
 
  • Plan, construct, operate and maintain E&M services at International Airports in India.
  • Detailing of the new airport project and modification in the existing airports starting from conceptualization, feasibility, detail designing of various sub schemes including power system including back up dg sets.
    1. Internal and External electrification of the terminal building, lighting layouts etc.
    2. Air-conditioning and ventilation etc.
    3. Baggage handling system compatible for inline X-BIS, escalators, elevators and travelators.
    4. Fire fighting system.
    5. Passenger boarding bridge layouts along with visual docking guidance systems.
  • Plan, provide, operate and maintain Visual Lighting Aids at International Airports.
    1. CAT-I, CAT-II and CAT-III
    2. Signage etc.
  • Apron and Taxiway Lighting
  • Plan, Provide, operate and maitian Electrical & Mechnical equipments provided for cargo handling at International Airports.
    1. Automatic storage and retrievel system.
    2. Elevating Transfer Vehicle
    3. Storage system at Cargo.
  • Maintenance of all the above installation at five International Airports i.e.
    1. Kolkata
    2. Chennai Airport
    3. Thiruvananthapuram Airport
